Day 13: WE HAVE A PURPOSE

Holy Father, what a great honor and responsibility you have bestowed on us, anointing us for your great commission, and giving us authority to act as your representatives here on earth. We truly are your ambassadors, as “our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20). Creator and Lord, please help us to be willing vessels that you can make your appeal through. Help us to reach out to those you place in our lives, guiding them to reconciliation on behalf of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20-21). Emblazon on our spirits and hearts the responsibility that we have as members of the Body of Christ to not be ashamed of but to share the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

Jesus, our Great Shepherd, while you walked on this earth you continually identified those who needed your saving power. You readily opened your heart and healing power to them saving them from hunger, physical ailments, sin, death, and despair. We ask Precious Savior, that you teach us to identify the people in our lives who need to see You through us in new ways. Help us to identify the specific needs in their lives that need to be met and please help us to co-labor with the Holy Spirit to meet them. Christ, our Messiah, please help us to pause in our daily routines to identify strangers you have placed in our path that also need our attention, our love, and the hope of the gospel. Please open our ears to hear, our eyes to see and our hearts to love. Please help us to comfort the brokenhearted, announce liberty to captives and open the eyes of the blind (Isaiah 61:1-3).

Great Holy Spirit, please equip us during this time of prayer and fasting with every good thing to do your will. Please accomplish in us what is pleasing in the Father’s sight through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:20-21). Please send us out humble yet excited, bursting with your fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, meekness, faithfulness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Help us to rest in the comfort of knowing that it is not OUR strength and ability that will be on display, but YOURS. Help us to share the good news of the gospel confidently, knowing that You will give us the right words to say and the knowledge of when to say them, you will guide us in the wisdom of knowing what actions to take and the right prayers to pray. Holy Spirit, please continue to manifest Your great gifts in us, so that we can sow and reap generously. Help us to not grow weary in doing good, but to reap a large harvest. Help us to do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers (Galatians 6:9-10). We offer up all of these requests in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
